स तपोऽतप्यत। स तपस्तप्त्वा। विज्ञानं ब्रह्मेति व्यजानात्। विज्ञानाद्ध्येव खल्विमानि भूतानि जायन्ते। विज्ञानेन जातानि जीवन्ति। विज्ञानं प्रयन्त्यभिसंविशन्तीति।

sa tapo'tapyata | sa tapastaptvā | vijñānaṃ brahmeti vyajānāt | vijñānāddhyeva khalvimāni bhūtāni jāyante | vijñānena jātāni jīvanti | vijñānaṃ prayantyabhisaṃviśantīti |

"He performed austerity. Having performed austerity, he understood: Vijnana (intellect/wisdom) is Brahman. From vijnana indeed these beings are born. By vijnana they live once born. Into vijnana they enter upon departing."

What This Means:

Deeper still, Bhrigu realizes intellect/wisdom is Brahman. Understanding itself is the source of all.

Going Deeper:

This corresponds to Vijnanamaya kosha. Closer to the truth, but discriminating consciousness is still not pure consciousness.

How To Apply This:

Wisdom is closer to reality than mind. But even wisdom operates on something - what is that?
