"When, with the Self as a lamp, the yogi sees Brahman - unborn, constant, free from all categories - knowing that God, one is freed from all bonds."

What This Means:

Using the Self as a lamp, the meditator sees Brahman - unborn, unchanging, beyond all categories. Knowing this God, one is liberated from all bonds.

Going Deeper:

The Self illumines the knowledge of Brahman, like a lamp reveals objects. Brahman is aja (unborn), dhruva (eternal), and vishudda (absolutely pure).

How To Apply This:

The Self within is the lamp that reveals Brahman. Turn the light inward and see the unborn, eternal, pure reality.
