""Apana dwells in the organs of excretion and generation. Prana itself abides in the eye, ear, mouth, and nose. In the middle is Samana - it distributes the food-offering equally. From this arise the seven flames.""

What This Means:

Apana governs lower functions (elimination, reproduction). Prana governs upper functions (senses). Samana in the middle distributes digested food.

Going Deeper:

The seven flames refer to the two eyes, two ears, two nostrils, and mouth - fed by Samana distributing nutrients.

How To Apply This:

Understand your body's energy zones: lower (elimination), middle (digestion), upper (senses). Each has its own prana.
