"Out of pride, Prana seemed to rise upward to leave the body. When it started to leave, all the others also began to leave. When it settled back, all the others settled back too. Just as when the queen bee rises, all the bees rise with her, and when she settles, all settle - so speech, mind, eye, and ear, pleased, praised Prana."

What This Means:

Prana proved its supremacy by starting to leave. All other faculties immediately began to fail too. Like bees following their queen, all powers depend on Prana.

Going Deeper:

This is the famous demonstration of Prana's primacy. Death is the departure of Prana; with its departure, all faculties cease.

How To Apply This:

When the breath leaves, everything leaves. Honor and protect your life-breath through pranayama and healthy living.
