तपसा चीयते ब्रह्म ततोऽन्नमभिजायते। अन्नात्प्राणो मनः सत्यं लोकाः कर्मसु चामृतम्॥
tapasā cīyate brahma tato'nnamabhijāyate | annātprāṇo manaḥ satyaṃ lokāḥ karmasu cāmṛtam ||
"Through tapas (creative heat), Brahman expands. From it food is born. From food comes life-breath, mind, truth, the worlds, and immortality through actions."
What This Means:
Creation unfolds through divine heat (tapas): first food (matter), then life, then mind, then worlds, and finally the fruits of action.
