Paraphrase of Maitri Upaniṣad 6.23

"Through this sound OM, one approaches Brahman with qualities. Then, the soundless - Brahman without qualities."

What This Means:

OM leads first to Brahman with qualities (saguna), then to the attributeless Brahman (nirguna).

Going Deeper:

This is the path of progressive transcendence - from name and form to the formless.

How To Apply This:

Start with form (deity, mantra, image), then let it dissolve into formlessness.
