Paraphrase of Maitri Upaniṣad 6.4

"This is to be known by the mind and uttered by speech as the Udgitha (sacred chant)."

What This Means:

OM should be both understood intellectually and chanted vocally as the sacred hymn.

Going Deeper:

True practice involves both jnana (knowledge) and upasana (meditation/worship) combined.

How To Apply This:

Combine understanding with practice - know what OM means while you chant it.
