Paraphrase of Maitri Upaniṣad 1.2
"He replied: "Blessed one, you who know the Self - tell me the truth about the Self!""
What This Means:
The king asked only for knowledge of the Self - not for power, pleasure, or worldly gains.
Going Deeper:
This is the highest request a human can make - seeking the truth of one's own being.
How To Apply This:
Of all the things you could ask for, ask for self-knowledge - it includes everything else.
