tad dhaiṣāṁ vijñāya tebhyo ha prādur babhūva tan na vyajānata kim idaṁ yakṣam iti ||
"Brahman perceived their pride. It appeared before them as a mysterious Yaksha (spirit), but they did not understand what this being was."
What This Means:
Brahman saw the gods' misunderstanding and decided to teach them. It appeared as a mysterious, glowing being (Yaksha). The gods couldn't recognize it — the very source of their power stood before them unknown.
Going Deeper:
The Yaksha represents the mystery of ultimate reality. Even when Brahman is "right in front of us," we may not recognize it because we're looking for something else. The gods expected an object; Brahman transcends objecthood.
How To Apply This:
Reality is not hidden in a distant cave — it's here, now, appearing as everything. The mystery is right before your eyes. Are you too busy looking for something special to notice the obvious?
