""Understanding the separate nature of the senses, their rising and setting, and that they arise separately, the wise person grieves not.""

What This Means:

Knowing that senses arise and disappear, each functioning separately, the wise person doesn't grieve. Senses come and go; the Self remains.

Going Deeper:

Detachment from senses comes from understanding their transient, mechanical nature. They're not the Self.

How To Apply This:

Watch your senses arise and fade. You remain. Don't identify with what comes and goes.
