""One who knows this Self, the experiencer of sweetness, the living one, always near, the lord of past and future - from that one shrinks not. This verily is That.""
What This Means:
The Self is the enjoyer of all experiences, always present, master of time itself. Knowing this, you fear nothing. This is the answer to Nachiketa's question.
Going Deeper:
"Madhvada" (honey-eater) suggests the Self tastes the essence of all experience. It rules past and future yet is ever-present.
How To Apply This:
You are the experiencer of all experiences, lord of time. Why would you fear anything?
