Katha Upanishad 2.21
intermediate
आसीनो दूरं व्रजति शयानो याति सर्वतः। कस्तं मदामदं देवं मदन्यो ज्ञातुमर्हति॥
āsīno dūraṃ vrajati śayāno yāti sarvataḥ | kastaṃ madāmadaṃ devaṃ madanyo jñātumarhati ||
""Sitting still, it travels far; lying down, it goes everywhere. Who but I can know that radiant being who rejoices and rejoices not?""
What This Means:
The Self doesn't move yet is everywhere. It seems to experience joy and sorrow, yet is beyond both. Who but Death can reveal such a paradox?
Going Deeper:
This describes the apparent contradiction of the Self - immovable yet omnipresent, involved yet untouched.
How To Apply This:
Notice: you don't have to go anywhere to reach the Self. It's already here, already everywhere.
