अशरीरं शरीरेष्वनवस्थेष्ववस्थितम्। महान्तं विभुमात्मानं मत्वा धीरो न शोचति॥
aśarīraṃ śarīreṣvanavastheṣvavasthitam | mahāntaṃ vibhumātmānaṃ matvā dhīro na śocati ||
""Knowing the Self as bodiless within bodies, stable amid the unstable, great and all-pervading, the wise person grieves not.""
What This Means:
The Self is bodiless though in bodies, unchanging though amid change, vast though seemingly limited. Knowing this, the wise don't grieve.
Going Deeper:
Grief comes from identifying with the changing body. Knowing the unchanging Self ends all grief.
How To Apply This:
When you grieve, ask: What is it that never changes? Rest in that.
