Katha Upanishad 1.11

यथा पुरस्ताद्भविता प्रतीत औद्दालकिरारुणिर्मत्प्रसृष्टः। सुखं रात्रीः शयिता वीतमन्युस्त्वां ददृशिवान्मृत्युमुखात्प्रमुक्तम्॥
yathā purastādbhavitā pratīta auddālakirāruṇirmatprasṛṣṭaḥ | sukhaṃ rātrīḥ śayitā vītamanyustvāṃ dadṛśivānmṛtyumukhātpramuktam ||
"Yama said: "Your father Auddalaki Aruni will recognize you and be as he was before. Released by me, seeing you freed from the jaws of death, he will sleep peacefully, his anger gone.""
What This Means:
Yama grants the first boon - Nachiketa's father will welcome him back with love, all anger forgotten, relieved to see his son alive.
Going Deeper:
This shows that even Death respects the bond between parent and child. The father's angry words are forgiven and undone.
How To Apply This:
Parents and children can always reconcile. No angry word need be permanent.
