""Bring me a fruit of the nyagrodha (banyan) tree." "Here it is, sir." "Break it open." "It is broken, sir." "What do you see?" "Very small seeds, sir." "Break one of them." "It is broken, sir." "What do you see?" "Nothing at all, sir.""

What This Means:

The father uses a banyan seed for teaching. Break the fruit, you see tiny seeds. Break a seed - you see nothing visible.

Going Deeper:

The banyan tree analogy: the huge tree comes from an invisible essence within the tiny seed. That invisible essence is the Self.

How To Apply This:

The greatest things come from what cannot be seen. The visible arises from the invisible.
