स ईक्षतेमे नु लोकाः लोकपालान्नु सृजा इति ।
सोऽद्भ्य एव पुरुषं समुद्धृत्यामूर्छयत् ॥
sa īkṣateme nu lokāḥ lokapālān nu sṛjā iti | so 'dbhya eva puruṣaṁ samuddhṛtyāmūrchayat ||
"He thought: "Here are the worlds. Let me create guardians for these worlds." He drew forth a Person (Purusha) from the waters and gave it form."
What This Means:
After creating the worlds, the Self created a cosmic Person to be the guardian and inhabitant of these realms. This Purusha was drawn from the primordial waters — the first embodied being.
Going Deeper:
The Purusha here is the cosmic template for all embodied beings. Being "drawn from waters" suggests emergence from the subtle, formless state into form. This archetypal Person will become the model for human existence.
How To Apply This:
You are made in the image of this cosmic Person. Your body isn't random — it's a microcosm designed to house and express consciousness. Respect your form as sacred.
