Gita 18.44
कृषिगौरक्ष्यवाणिज्यं वैश्यकर्म स्वभावजम्। परिचर्यात्मकं कर्म शूद्रस्यापि स्वभावजम्॥

kṛṣi-gau-rakṣya-vāṇijyaṁ vaiśya-karma svabhāva-jam paricaryātmakaṁ karma śūdrasyāpi svabhāva-jam

"Agriculture, cattle-rearing, and trade are the natural work of the Vaishya. Service is the natural work of the Shudra."

What This Means:

Vaishyas are naturally suited for farming, animal husbandry, and commerce. Shudras find fulfillment in service and supporting others' work.

Going Deeper:

Vaishya karma involves 'krishi' (agriculture), 'gau-rakshya' (cattle protection), and 'vanijya' (trade) - productive and commercial activities. Shudra karma is 'paricharya' (service) - supporting and assisting. These aren't inferior; they're different natural orientations. A society needs all four functions. Each temperament finds fulfillment in its appropriate work.

How To Apply This:

If you're naturally entrepreneurial, productive, or service-oriented, embrace that. Every role serves society. Fulfillment comes from doing your nature's work excellently.
