ahaṅkāraṁ balaṁ darpaṁ kāmaṁ krodhaṁ ca saṁśritāḥ mām ātma-para-deheṣu pradviṣanto 'bhyasūyakāḥ
"Possessed of ego, power, arrogance, lust, and anger, these malicious ones hate Me in their own and others' bodies."
What This Means:
Consumed by ego, force, arrogance, lust, and anger, these envious people actually hate God—both the Divine in themselves and in others.

Five possessions of the demonic: ahaṅkāra (ego), bala (force), darpa (arrogance), kāma (lust), krodha (anger). 'Mām pradviṣantaḥ'—they hate Me. Where? 'Ātma-para-deheṣu'—in their own and others' bodies. Since God dwells in all hearts, hating self or others is hating God. 'Abhyasūyakāḥ'—envious, finding fault even with the good.
How To Apply This:
Self-hatred and hatred of others are both hatred of the Divine who dwells in all. When you judge yourself harshly or condemn others, you're rejecting God's presence. Practice seeing the Divine in everyone, including yourself.
