Gita 13.24
य एवं वेत्ति पुरुषं प्रकृतिं च गुणैः सह। सर्वथा वर्तमानोऽपि न स भूयोऽभिजायते॥

ya evaṁ vetti puruṣaṁ prakṛtiṁ ca guṇaiḥ saha sarvathā vartamāno 'pi na sa bhūyo 'bhijāyate

"One who thus knows the spirit and nature together with the qualities, in whatever condition existing, is not born again."

What This Means:

One who truly understands purusha (spirit), prakriti (nature), and the gunas (qualities)—understanding their distinct roles—will not be reborn, regardless of their current life circumstances.

Going Deeper:

'Ya evam vetti'—who knows in this way (as taught). Knowledge of the purusha-prakriti distinction, when realized (not just intellectually grasped), liberates. 'Sarvathā vartamānaḥ api'—even while living in any condition. This is jivanmukti—liberation while alive. 'Na bhūyaḥ abhijāyate'—is not born again. Knowledge breaks the cycle.

How To Apply This:

Liberation doesn't require changing your circumstances—you can be free wherever you are. The key is clear seeing: knowing what you are (witness) and what you're not (body-mind modifications). This knowledge transforms while life continues.
