sarvendriya-guṇābhāsaṁ sarvendriya-vivarjitam asaktaṁ sarva-bhṛc caiva nirguṇaṁ guṇa-bhoktṛ ca
"Shining through the functions of all senses, yet free from all senses; unattached yet sustaining all; devoid of qualities yet experiencer of qualities."
What This Means:
Brahman appears through all senses (we see, hear, taste through it) yet has no senses itself. It is unattached yet supports everything. It has no qualities (gunas) yet experiences all qualities. These paradoxes point to a reality beyond ordinary logic.
Going Deeper:
Profound paradoxes: 'sarvendriya-guṇābhāsam sarvendriya-vivarjitam'—illuminating sense functions while itself being sense-free. 'Asaktam sarva-bhṛt'—unattached yet sustaining all. 'Nirguṇam guṇa-bhoktṛ'—without qualities yet experiencer of qualities. Brahman is like a screen—it allows all movies to appear, remains unchanged, and appears to experience them without being affected.
How To Apply This:
You are awareness itself—appearing to think, feel, perceive, yet remaining unchanged by these activities. Like a mirror reflects all images without being stained, your true nature witnesses all experience without being diminished.
