Gita 11.39
vāyur yamo 'gnir varuṇaḥ śaśāṅkaḥ prajāpatis tvaṁ prapitāmahaś ca namo namas te 'stu sahasra-kṛtvaḥ punaś ca bhūyo 'pi namo namas te
"You are Vayu, Yama, Agni, Varuna, the moon, Prajapati, and the great-grandfather. Salutations to You, a thousand times! Again and yet again, salutations to You!"
What This Means:
Arjuna identifies Krishna with all major deities: Wind (Vayu), Death (Yama), Fire (Agni), Waters (Varuna), Moon, Creator (Prajapati), and ancestor of all. Then a THOUSAND salutations, and more!
Going Deeper:
The repeated 'namo namas te' (salutations upon salutations) expresses inability to praise enough. Once isn't enough, a thousand isn't enough—keep bowing.
How To Apply This:
One bow isn't enough for the infinite. Repetition isn't mere repetition—it's acknowledgment that no single gesture is adequate. Keep bowing. Keep praising. It's never complete.
Key Sanskrit Terms:
Prajāpati= Lord of creatures, CreatorPrapitāmaha= Great-grandfatherSahasra-kṛtvaḥ= A thousand times
