Gita 10.35
बृहत्साम तथा साम्नां गायत्री छन्दसामहम्।
मासानां मार्गशीर्षोऽहमृतूनां कुसुमाकरः।।
bṛhat-sāma tathā sāmnāṁ gāyatrī chandasām aham māsānāṁ mārga-śīrṣo 'ham ṛtūnāṁ kusumākaraḥ
"Among hymns I am the Brihat-sama; among meters, the Gayatri; among months, Margashirsha; among seasons, the flower-bearer (spring)."
What This Means:
Among Sama Veda hymns—Brihat-sama. Among poetic meters—Gayatri. Among months—Margashirsha (November-December). Among seasons—spring (kusumakara, 'flower-bearer').
Going Deeper:
The Gayatri meter is considered most sacred, used in the famous Gayatri mantra. Spring as 'flower-bearer' represents nature's renewal and abundance. Poetry, time, and seasons all manifest divinity.
How To Apply This:
The Gayatri mantra in Gayatri meter is recommended for practice—it's highlighted as divine among all mantras. And spring's renewal reminds us that life constantly regenerates.
