Gita 10.28
आयुधानामहं वज्रं धेनूनामस्मि कामधुक्।
प्रजनश्चास्मि कन्दर्पः सर्पाणामस्मि वासुकिः।।
āyudhānām ahaṁ vajraṁ dhenūnām asmi kāma-dhuk prajanaś cāsmi kandarpaḥ sarpāṇām asmi vāsukiḥ
"Among weapons I am the thunderbolt; among cows, the wish-fulfilling cow; I am Kandarpa, the cause of offspring; and among serpents, I am Vasuki."
What This Means:
Among weapons—the vajra (Indra's thunderbolt). Among cows—Kamadhenu (wish-granting cow). Among generative forces—Kandarpa (god of love/desire). Among serpents—Vasuki.
Going Deeper:
Even desire (Kandarpa) is included as divine when it leads to life. Procreative energy is a sacred force. And the serpent Vasuki, who helped churn the cosmic ocean, represents mysterious power.
How To Apply This:
Desire that creates life, protects what's valuable, and serves higher purposes is divine. Don't reject desire—redirect it toward what's generative and sacred.
