Gita 1.20
अथ व्यवस्थितान्दृष्ट्वा धार्तराष्ट्रान्कपिध्वजः। प्रवृत्ते शस्त्रसम्पाते धनुरुद्यम्य पाण्डवः।।

atha vyavasthitān dṛṣṭvā dhārtarāṣṭrān kapi-dhvajaḥ pravṛtte śastra-sampāte dhanur udyamya pāṇḍavaḥ

"Then, seeing the sons of Dhritarashtra arrayed for battle, as weapons were about to be discharged, Arjuna, whose flag bears the emblem of Hanuman, took up his bow."

What This Means:

The moment of battle has arrived. Arjuna, with Hanuman on his flag (symbolizing strength and devotion), lifts his bow. He's ready to fight. But something is about to happen that will change everything.

Going Deeper:

Hanuman on Arjuna's flag connects him to Lord Rama's story—another righteous war. Arjuna carries that legacy of dharmic warfare. Yet he's about to question everything.

How To Apply This:

Even when we're prepared and our cause is just, doubt can arise at crucial moments. Being prepared externally doesn't guarantee inner clarity. Both matter.

Key Sanskrit Terms:

Kapi-dhvaja= One whose flag bears a monkey (Hanuman)Shastra-sampata= Discharge of weapons, battle
