Gita 1.21
हृषीकेशं तदा वाक्यमिदमाह महीपते।
अर्जुन उवाच।
सेनयोरुभयोर्मध्ये रथं स्थापय मेऽच्युत।।
hṛṣīkeśaṁ tadā vākyam idam āha mahī-pate arjuna uvāca senyor ubhayor madhye rathaṁ sthāpaya me 'cyuta
"Arjuna then spoke these words to Krishna: O Infallible One, please place my chariot between the two armies."
What This Means:
Arjuna asks Krishna to drive him between the two armies—not to fight, but to look. He wants to see who he's about to fight. This simple request will lead to his crisis.
Going Deeper:
Arjuna calls Krishna 'Achyuta' (infallible, one who never falls). While Arjuna is about to fall into despair, he unknowingly invokes the one quality that will save him—the infallible nature of divine guidance.
How To Apply This:
Sometimes we need to pause and really look at a situation before acting. Arjuna's request to see clearly is wise. But be prepared: seeing clearly might shake your assumptions.
Key Sanskrit Terms:
Achyuta= Infallible, one who never fallsUbhayor madhye= Between both (armies)
