अग्निर्होता कविक्रतुः सत्यश्चित्रश्रवस्तमः ।
देवो देवेभिरा गमत् ॥
agnir hotā kavikratuḥ satyaś citraśravastamaḥ | devo devebhir ā gamat ||
“Agni the invoker, of poetic wisdom, true, of most brilliant fame, may he, the god, come with the gods.”
What This Means:
Agni is the hotā (invoker), possessed of kavikratu (the wisdom of a poet-seer), satya (truthful), and of brilliant fame. The prayer asks that he come accompanied by all the gods.
