Taittiriya Upanishad 1.5
beginner
ब्रह्मणः कोशोऽसि मेधया पिहितः। श्रुतं मे गोपाय।
brahmaṇaḥ kośo'si medhayā pihitaḥ | śrutaṃ me gopāya |
"You are the sheath of Brahman, covered by intelligence. Protect what I have heard."
What This Means:
The student is called a "sheath of Brahman" - a container for divine knowledge. The prayer asks that learned wisdom be preserved.
Going Deeper:
Each student is a repository of sacred knowledge. The intellect protects this knowledge from being lost.
How To Apply This:
You are a vessel for wisdom. Protect what you learn through practice and reflection.
