"May we both attain fame together. May we both attain the radiance of Brahman together. Now we shall explain the hidden teaching of conjunctions, in five categories."

What This Means:

Teacher and student pray to achieve glory and spiritual radiance together. The teaching on conjunctions (sandhi) follows in five categories: cosmic, luminous, intellectual, generational, and personal.

Going Deeper:

Upanishadic learning is a joint venture between guru and shishya. Both grow together. The five sandhis reveal how different realms are connected.

How To Apply This:

True education is a shared journey. Both teacher and student benefit when learning happens.
