"Through the power of austerity and the grace of God, the wise Shvetashvatara realized Brahman. Then he taught it to the highest order of renunciates - that supremely pure (teaching) well approved by the assembly of sages."
What This Means:
By his austerity and God's grace, sage Shvetashvatara knew Brahman. He taught this supremely pure knowledge to advanced renunciates, approved by sage-assemblies.
Going Deeper:
Two requirements for realization: personal effort (tapas) and divine grace (devaprasada). The teaching has lineage authority (rishi-approved).
How To Apply This:
Combine effort (tapas) with receptivity to grace. Both are needed for Brahman-realization.
