Shvetashvatara Upanishad 4.21

वेदान्ते परमं गुह्यं पुराकल्पे प्रचोदितम्। नाप्रशान्ताय दातव्यं नापुत्रायाशिष्याय वा पुनः॥
vedānte paramaṃ guhyaṃ purākalpe pracoditam | nāpraśāntāya dātavyaṃ nāputrāyāśiṣyāya vā punaḥ ||
"This supreme secret of Vedanta, which was declared in ancient times, should not be given to one who is not tranquil, nor to one who is not a son or a disciple."
What This Means:
This Vedantic secret from ancient times should only be taught to those who are peaceful, or who are sons or proper disciples.
Going Deeper:
Qualifications for receiving highest knowledge: inner tranquility (praśānta) and proper relationship (son or disciple). This protects both teaching and learner.
How To Apply This:
Become peaceful to be worthy of the highest teachings. The teaching requires readiness.
