tapaḥprabhāvāddevaprasādācca brahma ha śvetāśvataro\'tha vidvān | atyāśramibhyaḥ paramaṃ pavitraṃ provāca samyagṛṣisaṃghajuṣṭam ||
"By the power of his austerity and by the grace of God, the wise Shvetashvatara taught Brahman to the highest order of sannyasins - that which is supremely purifying and approved by the assembly of sages."
What This Means:
The sage Shvetashvatara, through his austerities and God's grace, understood Brahman. He taught this pure knowledge to advanced renunciates, as approved by sage-assemblies.
Going Deeper:
The Upanishad names its source: sage Shvetashvatara ("white mule"). Two factors enable teaching: tapas (personal effort) and divine grace (devaprasada).
How To Apply This:
Combine personal effort (tapas) with openness to grace. Both are needed for the highest realization.
