यो देवानां प्रभवश्चोद्भवश्च विश्वाधिपो रुद्रो महर्षिः। हिरण्यगर्भं जनयामास पूर्वं स नो बुद्ध्या शुभया संयुनक्तु॥
yo devānāṃ prabhavaścodbhavaśca viśvādhipo rudro maharṣiḥ | hiraṇyagarbhaṃ janayāmāsa pūrvaṃ sa no buddhyā śubhayā saṃyunaktu ||
"He who is the source and origin of the gods, the ruler of all, Rudra the great seer - who produced Hiranyagarbha in the beginning - may He endow us with clear understanding."
What This Means:
Rudra is the source of the gods, the cosmic ruler, the great seer. He created Hiranyagarbha (the cosmic golden womb) at the beginning. May He bless us with wisdom.
Going Deeper:
Rudra is beyond even Hiranyagarbha (Brahma). He created the creator. This establishes Rudra as the supreme reality.
