"In a clean, level place, free from pebbles, fire, and sand, by sounds of water and other features pleasing to the mind, not offensive to the eye, in a sheltered spot protected from the wind, one should practice yoga."

What This Means:

Choose a clean, flat meditation spot without irritants. It should have pleasant sounds (like water), be easy on the eyes, and sheltered from wind.

Going Deeper:

Specific environmental conditions for yoga are given: cleanliness, level ground, pleasant sounds, protected from wind. The outer environment supports inner practice.

How To Apply This:

Create a suitable meditation space: clean, quiet, comfortable, protected. Environment matters for practice.
