युञ्जानः प्रथमं मनस्तत्त्वाय सविता धियः। अग्नेर्ज्योतिर्निचाय्य पृथिव्या अध्याभरत्॥

yuñjānaḥ prathamaṃ manastattvatāya savitā dhiyaḥ | agnerjyotirnicāyya pṛthivyā adhyābharat ||

"First yoking the mind and thoughts to truth, Savitri (the divine light), having discerned the light of fire from the earth, brought it forth."

What This Means:

The divine Sun (Savitri) first connected mind with truth, then brought forth the light of fire from earth. This describes the primordial act of illumination.

Going Deeper:

The verse invokes Savitri (the creative solar deity) whose act of yoking (yoga) mind to truth is the model for human practice.

How To Apply This:

Like Savitri, yoke your mind to truth. This is the first step in yoga - connecting thought with reality.
