क्षरं प्रधानममृताक्षरं हरः क्षरात्मानावीशते देव एकः। तस्याभिध्यानाद्योजनात्तत्त्वभावात् भूयश्चान्ते विश्वमायानिवृत्तिः॥

kṣaraṃ pradhānamamṛtākṣaraṃ haraḥ kṣarātmānāvīśate deva ekaḥ | tasyābhidhyānādyojanāt tattvabhāvāt bhūyaścānte viśvamāyānivṛttiḥ ||

"The perishable is matter (pradhana); the immortal and imperishable is Hara (Shiva). The one God rules over both the perishable and the self. By meditating on Him, by uniting with Him, by becoming one with reality, finally there is cessation of all illusion."

What This Means:

Pradhana (primordial matter) is perishable; Hara (Shiva, the Lord) is imperishable. The one God rules over matter and souls. Through meditation on Him, illusion ceases.

Going Deeper:

The term Hara (a name of Shiva) appears, showing the theistic nature of this Upanishad. Liberation comes through meditation on and union with this personal God.

How To Apply This:

Meditate on the one Lord (Ishvara/Hara) who rules over matter and souls. This ends illusion.
