"They praised him: "You indeed are our father, who ferry us to the far shore beyond ignorance. Salutations to the supreme sages! Salutations to the supreme sages!""

What This Means:

The six seekers honor Pippalada as a spiritual father who has carried them across the ocean of ignorance. The Upanishad ends with salutations to the great sages.

Going Deeper:

The guru is the ferry-master who takes disciples across the ocean of ignorance to the shore of knowledge. Repeated salutations express profound gratitude.

How To Apply This:

Honor your teachers who guide you from darkness to light. They are spiritual parents worthy of highest respect.
