Prashna Upanishad 1.5

आदित्यो ह वै प्राणो रयिरेव चन्द्रमा रयिर्वा एतत्सर्वं यन्मूर्तं चामूर्तं च तस्मान्मूर्तिरेव रयिः॥
ādityo ha vai prāṇo rayireva candramā rayirvā etatsarvaṃ yanmūrtaṃ cāmūrtaṃ ca tasmānmūrtireva rayiḥ ||
"The sun indeed is Prana (life-energy), and the moon is Rayi (matter). Matter is all this - whatever has form and is formless. Therefore, form itself is matter."
What This Means:
The sun represents the life-giving energy (Prana), while the moon represents matter (Rayi). Everything visible is matter.
Going Deeper:
The Upanishad uses cosmic symbols - sun and moon - to represent the fundamental duality of consciousness-energy and material substance.
How To Apply This:
Observe how the sun energizes all life while matter provides the forms. Your body is Rayi; your vitality is Prana.
