अशुद्धं कामसंकल्पं शुद्धं कामविवर्जितम्।
aśuddhaṃ kāmasaṃkalpaṃ śuddhaṃ kāmavivarjitam |
Maitri Upaniṣad 6.34
"The impure is accompanied by desire; the pure is free from desire."

An impure mind is attached to desires; a pure mind is free from selfish wanting.
