तस्यै तपो दमः कर्मेति प्रतिष्ठा वेदाः सर्वाङ्गानि सत्यमायतनम् ॥

tasyai tapo damaḥ karmeti pratiṣṭhā vedāḥ sarvāṅgāni satyam āyatanam ||

"Its foundation is austerity, self-control, and action. The Vedas are all its limbs. Truth is its abode."

What This Means:

This knowledge rests on a practical foundation: tapas (discipline), dama (self-control), and karma (right action). It's supported by all Vedic wisdom, and its home is truth. Knowledge without practice is incomplete.

Going Deeper:

The teaching comes full circle. Knowledge of Brahman isn't separate from ethical living — it rests on and expresses through discipline, mastery, and action in the world. Truth (satya) is both the means and the goal.

How To Apply This:

Spiritual knowledge must be grounded in practice. Self-discipline, self-control, and engaged action are not obstacles to enlightenment — they're its foundation. Live truthfully, and the truth lives through you.
