अथाध्यात्मं यदेतद्गच्छतीव च मनोऽनेन चैतदुपस्मरत्यभीक्ष्णं सङ्कल्पः ॥

athādhyātmaṁ yad etad gacchatīva ca mano 'nena caitad upasmaraty abhīkṣṇaṁ saṅkalpaḥ ||

"Now with reference to the self: It is that toward which the mind seems to move, and by which the mind repeatedly remembers — that intention or will (to know)."

What This Means:

In the inner realm too, Brahman can be glimpsed — it's what the mind is always moving toward, what we keep trying to remember or understand. That persistent pull toward knowing your own source is itself a pointer to Brahman.

Going Deeper:

The mind's movement toward truth, its repeated attempts to grasp reality, its will to know — all these are Brahman manifesting as the drive for self-knowledge. The seeker is not separate from what's sought.

How To Apply This:

Your desire to understand, your curiosity about consciousness, your longing for truth — where does that come from? The very impulse to seek is consciousness seeking itself. You're already connected to what you seek.
