स होवाच त्वमेव मे वृणीष्व यं त्वं मन्यसे मनुष्याय हिततमम्।
sa hovāca tvameva me vṛṇīṣva yaṃ tvaṃ manyase manuṣyāya hitatamam |
"Pratardana replied: "You choose for me what you consider most beneficial for a human being.""
What This Means:
Wisely, Pratardana asked Indra to choose what is truly best for a human - trusting divine wisdom over his own desires.
Going Deeper:
This shows supreme humility and wisdom - recognizing that we may not know what is truly best for us.
How To Apply This:
Sometimes the wisest request is to ask for what is truly good, not what we think we want.
