तेषां प्राणैः पूर्वपक्षे आपूर्यते, अपरपक्षे प्रजनयति।

teṣāṃ prāṇaiḥ pūrvapakṣe āpūryate, aparapakṣe prajanayati |

"By their life-breaths, the moon waxes in the bright fortnight; in the dark fortnight, it projects them for rebirth."
