""When this embodied self dwelling in the body is released from the body as it falls apart, what remains here? This verily is That.""

What This Means:

When the body falls away and the Self is released, what remains? The answer to Nachiketa's original question: the eternal Self remains.

Going Deeper:

This directly answers the question about death. The body perishes; the dehi (embodied one) is released, unchanged.

How To Apply This:

What will remain when your body falls away? Know that now, and you'll fear nothing.
