अङ्गुष्ठमात्रः पुरुषो ज्योतिरिवाधूमकः। ईशानो भूतभव्यस्य स एवाद्य स उ श्वः। एतद्वै तत्॥
aṅguṣṭhamātraḥ puruṣo jyotirivādhūmakaḥ | īśāno bhūtabhavyasya sa evādya sa u śvaḥ | etadvai tat ||
""The Purusha, of the size of a thumb, is like a flame without smoke. Lord of past and future, it is the same today and tomorrow. This verily is That.""
What This Means:
The Self in the heart shines like a smokeless flame - pure light. It is unchanged by time - the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Going Deeper:
"Smokeless flame" suggests pure consciousness without the obscuration of thought. It transcends time entirely.
How To Apply This:
Your true nature is unchanging light. What was true of you yesterday is true today and tomorrow.
