इन्द्रियाणि हयानाहुर्विषयांस्तेषु गोचरान्। आत्मेन्द्रियमनोयुक्तं भोक्तेत्याहुर्मनीषिणः॥

indriyāṇi hayānāhurviṣayāṃsteṣu gocarān | ātmendriyamanoyuktaṃ bhoktetyāhurmanīṣiṇaḥ ||

""The senses are said to be the horses; their roads are the sense objects. The Self, joined with the senses and mind, the wise call the enjoyer.""

What This Means:

The senses are like horses that run toward sense objects (sights, sounds, etc.). The Self, connected to mind and senses, is called the "enjoyer" - the one who experiences.

Going Deeper:

The Self becomes bound by identifying with experiences. It's not the senses that bind us, but our attachment to what they reveal.

How To Apply This:

Notice how your senses pull you toward objects. You are the experiencer, not the experience itself.
