Katha Upanishad 2.25
intermediate
यस्य ब्रह्म च क्षत्रं च उभे भवत ओदनः। मृत्युर्यस्योपसेचनं क इत्था वेद यत्र सः॥
yasya brahma ca kṣatraṃ ca ubhe bhavata odanaḥ | mṛtyuryasyopasecanaṃ ka itthā veda yatra saḥ ||
""For whom both the priestly and warrior classes are food, and death itself is a condiment - who can know where that Self dwells?""
What This Means:
This Self "consumes" everything - even the highest social powers, even death itself! Who can know the dwelling place of such an infinite reality?
Going Deeper:
This shocking image shows the Self as transcending all categories, including death. Death, which Nachiketa faced, is just a "condiment" to the Self.
How To Apply This:
The Self you seek is greater than anything you can imagine - even greater than Death.
