""When a person dies, there is this doubt: Some say he exists; others say he does not. I want to know this, taught by you. This is the third of my boons.""

What This Means:

For his third boon, Nachiketa asks the ultimate question: What happens after death? Does the Self continue to exist, or not?

Going Deeper:

This is the central question of all philosophy and religion. Nachiketa cuts through all lesser concerns to ask what truly matters.

How To Apply This:

What is your deepest question? Are you willing to pursue it with Nachiketa's determination?
