तं ह कुमारं सन्तं दक्षिणासु नीयमानासु श्रद्धाविवेश सोऽमन्यत॥

taṃ ha kumāraṃ santaṃ dakṣiṇāsu nīyamānāsu śraddhāviveśa so'manyata ||

"When the gifts were being distributed, faith entered young Nachiketa. He thought to himself:"

What This Means:

While watching the sacrifice, a deep faith and sincerity arose in young Nachiketa. He began to question what he saw.

Going Deeper:

Shraddha (faith) here means not blind belief but genuine spiritual aspiration. The child sees more clearly than the adults.

How To Apply This:

Cultivate the pure questioning mind of a child - curious, sincere, unafraid to see truth.
