sa grāmādgrāmaṃ pṛcchanpаṇḍito medhāvī gandhārānevopasаṃpadyeta | evamevehācāryavānpuruṣo veda | tasya tāvadeva ciraṃ yāvanna vimokṣye\'tha saṃpatsya iti ||
""Going from village to village, if he is intelligent, he would finally reach Gandhara. Even so, one who has a teacher knows: 'I will be here only as long as I am not released, then I shall attain.'""
What This Means:
Following directions village by village, the wise person reaches home. With a teacher, you know: I will attain after this body is shed.
Going Deeper:
The journey home is gradual (village to village = life to life), but with a teacher, liberation is certain.
How To Apply This:
With a teacher's guidance, follow the path step by step. Liberation is certain for one who knows.
