श्वेतकेतो यन्नु सोम्य महामना अनूचानमानी स्तब्धोऽसि उत तमादेशमप्राक्ष्यः येनाश्रुतं श्रुतं भवत्यमतं मतमविज्ञातं विज्ञातमिति कथं नु भगवः स आदेश इति॥
śvetaketo yannu somya mahāmanā anūcānamānī stabdho\'si uta tamādeśamaprākṣyaḥ yenāśrutaṃ śrutaṃ bhavatyamataṃ matamavijñātaṃ vijñātamiti kathaṃ nu bhagavaḥ sa ādeśa iti ||
""Shvetaketu, since you are so conceited, considering yourself learned, and stiff with pride, did you ask for that teaching by which the unheard becomes heard, the unthought becomes thought, the unknown becomes known?" "What is that teaching, venerable sir?""
What This Means:
Father asks: Did you learn the ONE thing by which EVERYTHING becomes known? Shvetaketu admits he doesn't know such a teaching.
